월인천강 (月印千江)

Art SpaceX는 2025년 11월 4일(화)부터 12월 21일(일)까지 강경구 작가를 초청하여 〈월인천강(月印千江)〉을 선보입니다. 이번 전시는 동강 연포마을의 압도적인 자연 풍경을 작가의 감각으로 채집하고, 이를 즉흥적인 회화 언어로 풀어낸 작업들을 통해 자연과 자아, 감각과 회화의 경계를 조명합니다.

강경구 작가는 절벽과 물길, 바람과 잔설이 공존하는 연포마을에 스며드는 모든 소리와 진동, 공기의 밀도를 온몸으로 받아들이며, 그 체험을 화면 위에 즉흥적이고도 원시적인 ‘몸의 그림’으로 환원합니다. 반복된 사유가 아닌 순간의 감각에서 비롯된 선과 색은 실제의 풍경을 벗어난 ‘내면의 풍경’을 이루며, 보는 이로 하여금 또 다른 감각의 세계로 진입하게 만듭니다.

〈월인천강〉은 ‘하늘의 달이 천 개의 강물에 비친다’는 뜻처럼, 하나의 자연이 무수한 감각과 표현으로 확장되는 회화적 다중성에 주목합니다. 작가는 연포의 하늘과 땅, 물과 바람이 한데 섞여 만들어낸 색과 선으로 순간의 호흡과 즉흥의 리듬을 표현합니다. 평면이 만들어내는 자연의 숨소리와 리듬의 세계로 여러분을 초대합니다.

Moon Reflected on a Thousand Rivers

Art SpaceX is pleased to present Moon Reflected on a Thousand Rivers by artist Kyung Koo Kang, on view from Tuesday, November 4 to Sunday, November 30, 2025. This exhibition captures the overwhelming natural scenery of Yeonpo Village by the Dong River through the artist’s unique sensory lens, exploring the boundaries between nature and self, sensation and painting through spontaneous visual language.

Immersing himself in the cliffs, waterways, wind, and lingering snow of Yeonpo Village, Kang receives the sounds, vibrations, and density of the air with his entire body. These experiences are then transformed into instinctive and primal "paintings of the body" on canvas. Rather than arising from repeated contemplation, his lines and colors emerge from fleeting sensations, creating “inner landscapes” that go beyond depictions of actual scenery. Viewers are invited to step into an alternate world of perception.

The title Moon Reflected on a Thousand Rivers alludes to the idea that a single moon can be reflected in countless rivers, highlighting the painterly multiplicity in which one element of nature can be expressed through infinite sensations and forms. Using the colors and lines born from the skies, earth, water, and wind of Yeonpo, the artist conveys a rhythm of spontaneity and breath. We invite you into a world where nature’s breath and rhythm come alive through the painted surface.

여기는 동강 연포마을.

10곡 병풍처럼 끝없이 이어진 절벽들, 모든 부스러기들은 다 거두고 날카로운 골기만 성성하다. 그 밑동의 투명한 옥색 물길들은 허리를 꺾어가며 계곡을 휘감는다.

하늘과 땅, 물과 바람이 한데 섞여 끝없이 돌아가는 곳이다.

초봄, 잔설이 그대로 남아있는 강변.

이 좁은 계곡에서는 졸졸거리는 물소리. 귓가의 바람 소리, 작은 발자국 소리 하나도 우렁우렁 큰 메아리로 돌아와 귓전을 때린다,

거인의 저벅거림같은 환청속으로 모든 감각이 집중된다.

우로 좌로 위로 아래로 마구 선들을 긋는다.

저 앞의 풍경 어디에도 없는 선들이 종이 위에서 춤을 춘다.

사방의 환청들에 홀린 전혀 다른 세계의 춤사위다.

하루에도 세 번이나 달이 뜬다는 이 곳.

여기에는 분명 또 다른 세계를 향한 비밀스럽고 투명한 작은 통로가 있다.
