Art Space X는 한불 수교 140주년을 기념하는 《140주년 한불교류전》을 선보이며, “예술을 통한 만남, 미래를 잇는 동행”이라는 주제 아래, 한국과 프랑스 작가 9 인의 작업을 통해 양국 간 예술적 교류의 흐름과 확장 가능성을 조망합니다.

To commemorate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France, Art Space X presents the Korea–France Exchange Exhibition: 140th Anniversary. Under the theme “Encounters Through Art, Building the Future Together,” the exhibition brings together works by nine Korean and French artists, exploring the evolving trajectory of artistic exchange between the two countries and its potential for further expansion.

Art Space X 는 정지숙 작가를 초청해 소명과 규범이 흐려진 시대 속에서, 자유와 불안을 동시에 지닌 현대인의 상태를 ‘벌거숭이’라는 존재로 풀어내며, 감각과 본능에 의해 지속되는 삶의 방식을 탐구하는 과정을 선보입니다.

Art Space X invites artist Jung Jisook to present an exploration of the ways in which life is sustained through instinct and sensation. In an era where vocation and social norms have become increasingly blurred, the exhibition portrays the condition of contemporary individuals—simultaneously embodying freedom and anxiety—through the figure of the “naked being.”

Art Space X는 김매리 작가를 초청해 반복되는 모듈의 결합과 변형을 통해 형상이 생성되고 확장되는 과정을 탐구하며, 규칙과 우연 사이에서 끊임없이 변주되는 구조의 가능성을 살펴봅니다.

Art Space X invites Kim Mary to explore the processes through which forms are generated and expanded via the combination and transformation of repeating modules, examining the evolving possibilities of structures that continuously vary between rule and chance.

Art Space X invites artist Hong Seunghye to illuminate the ways in which the emotion of “warmth,” a theme she has explored over many years, unfolds in various forms—rooted in the primal experience of comfort she felt in the color of the sky.

Art SpaceX는 강경구 작가를 초청해 동강 연포마을의 압도적인 자연 풍경을 작가의 감각으로 채집하고, 이를 즉흥적인 회화 언어로 풀어낸 작업들을 통해 자연과 자아, 감각과 회화의 경계를 조명합니다.

Art Space X invites artist Kang Kyungku to illuminate the boundaries between nature and self, and between perception and painting, through works that gather the overwhelming landscape of Yeonpo Village in Donggang through the artist’s sensibility and translate it into an intuitive painterly language.

Art SpaceX는 한효석 작가를 초청해 기존에 작가가 추구해온 이데올로기적인 자유에서 벗어나, 순수한 조형 언어로 표현된 행복하고 내면적인 자유를 마주하는 전시를 선보인다.

Art Space X invites artist Han Hyoseok to present an exhibition that departs from the ideological notions of freedom explored in his earlier work, turning instead toward a joyful and introspective sense of inner freedom articulated through a pure formal language.

Art SpaceX는 프랑스 현대 사진의 흐름을 눈여겨 볼 수 있는 사진가 20명을 초청하여 현대사진에 대한 기획전을 선보입니다. 이번 전시는 "인간, 자연, 도시" 세가지 주제를 담은 43점의 작품을 선보인다.

Art Space X presents a special exhibition on contemporary photography, inviting twenty photographers who offer a compelling perspective on the current currents of French photography. The exhibition features forty-three works organized around three themes: “Human,” “Nature,” and “City.”

Art Space X가 주최한 ‘2024 현대미술제’에서 두각을 보인 Anne Han, Daney Kang, Milla Lee의 작품 세계를 재조명한다. 세 작가는 추상, 구상, 사진이라는 각기 다른 매체적 언어를 중심으로 인간 존재의 의미, 내면적 경험, 그리고 이상향에 대한 질문을 다룬다.

This exhibition reexamines the practices of Anne Han, Daney Kang, and Milla Lee, whose works stood out at the “2024 Contemporary Art Festival” hosted by Art Space X. Through distinct artistic languages—abstraction, figuration, and photography—the three artists engage with questions of human existence, inner experience, and the pursuit of an ideal realm.

애정을 주고 싶은 것을 하나, 둘 모으는 일이 컬렉팅의 시작이다. 30년간 미술품을 모아온, 그러나 한 번도 공개하지 않은 그것들의 아름다움을 선보이기로 했다. 한 컬렉터가 평생 사랑해 온 회화, 조소, 도자를 아우르는 컬렉팅의 스펙트럼을 만나볼 수 있을 것이다.

Collecting begins with the simple act of gathering, one by one, the things we wish to cherish. This exhibition unveils for the first time a collection assembled over thirty years. Through paintings, sculptures, and ceramics, it offers a glimpse into the spectrum of works a single collector has loved and lived with throughout a lifetime.

Art Space X의 연말 특별 전시로, 기독교적 세계관을 바탕으로 한 “로고스(말씀)“를 주제로 한다. 이번 전시는 두 작가 김지혜와 박혜성의 신작을 통해 종교적 경험과 개인적 사유가 어우러진 독창적인 예술 세계를 선보인다.

Presented as Art Space X’s year-end special exhibition, this show explores the theme of “Logos (the Word)” within a Christian worldview. Featuring new works by Kim Jihye and Park Hyesung, the exhibition reveals unique artistic perspectives where religious experience and personal contemplation converge.

이종목 작가의 관심사 한마디로 동서고금의 회통이다. 예술은 물론 종교, 철학, 역사 등 동서문명사의 근원을 거슬러 올라가 매순간의 정점에서 몸으로 풀어내는 것이 그의 작업이다. 이를 위해 1992년 3회 개인전 이후 그동안의 작업을 작파하고 직접 대상을 마주하는 작업으로 전환, 우리 산하에 지문처럼 새겨진 내력부터 풀어내기 시작하였다.

At the heart of Lee Jongmok’s artistic inquiry lies the convergence of Eastern and Western thought across time. His practice traces the roots of civilization—across art, religion, philosophy, and history—and seeks to embody them through physical engagement. Following his third solo exhibition in March 1992, he abandoned his earlier works and shifted toward a practice of directly encountering his subjects, beginning with the histories etched into the Korean landscape like fingerprints.

장석원은 순진무구한 관점에서 인물을, 정복수는 인간의 본질 속을 탐구한다. 개성 강한 두 화가의 가을은 인간적인 너무나 인간적인 그림으로 흥미진진하다.

Jang Seokwon portrays the human figure through a lens of innocence and purity, while Jeong Boksoo probes the inner depths of human nature. In this autumn exhibition, the works of these two distinctive painters come together to offer a compelling exploration of what is profoundly—and all too—human.

정지태 작가는 아버지의 영향으로 늘 예술가들과 함께했다. 대학 동아리에서 첫 사진기를 든 그때부터 평생에 걸친 의사 생활동안에도 꾸준히 그림, 사진 등 미술에 대한 관심을 키웠다. 2019년 여름 정년퇴임 한 뒤 취미생활에 몰두하여 그동안 몇 차례 열린 동인전에서 우수한 예술성을 과시하며 작가의 반열에 올랐다.

Influenced by his father, Jung Jitae spent much of his life in the company of artists. From the moment he first picked up a camera in a university club, he continued to cultivate his interest in painting and photography even while pursuing a lifelong career as a physician. After retiring in the summer of 2019, he immersed himself in artistic practice, and through several group exhibitions has revealed a notable artistic sensibility, emerging as an artist in his own right.

아트 스페이스X에서 8월 1일부터 9월 24일까지 4회에 걸쳐 ’홍콩 소버린 아시아 현대 미술제‘를 위한 전시 공모전을 개최합니다. 이번 전시에는 총 59명의 작가가 선정되어, 1부에서 4부까지 다양한 작품들을 선보입니다. 작품들은 소버린 노미네이터 분의 심사를 통해 선정되어집니다.

Art Space X presents an open-call exhibition for the “Sovereign Asian Contemporary Art Prize, Hong Kong,” held in four parts from August 1 to September 24. A total of fifty-nine artists have been selected to showcase a diverse range of works throughout the four sections of the exhibition. The works were selected through the evaluation of a Sovereign Prize nominator.

‘교회에서는 이색 화가, 미술계에서는 이색 사제’로 불려온 화가 김인중 신부의 작품 세계는 ‘영원을 향한 빛(光)의 예술’이다. 그가 회화뿐 아니라 스테인드글라스, 세라믹 작업 안에 두루 담아낸 ‘비움과 채움’, ‘명상과 기도’의 메시지 그리고 그것이 함유한 ‘숭고’의 미학이 무엇인지 살펴본다.

Often described as an “unconventional painter within the Church and an unconventional priest within the art world,” Father Kim Injoong’s work can be understood as an art of light oriented toward eternity. Through painting, stained glass, and ceramics, the exhibition reflects on the messages of “emptiness and fullness” and “meditation and prayer” that run through his practice, revealing the aesthetics of the sublime embedded within them.

이경희 작가는 의식과 무의식, 미와 추, 우연과 필연, 구상과 추상 등 상반되는 것들이 서로 영향을 주며 생성되고 소멸하는 생명작용을 표현한다. 우드그레이빙 판화 기법에 수묵의 번짐 효과가 주는 우연성을 활용해 표현한 필연적 결과물을 보여주며 판화와 회화의 접목으로 이어진다. 판화의 맥을 잃지 않고 정체성을 이어 다른 조형언어들과 접목시켜 현대회화로 발전시키고 있다.

Lee Kyunghee’s work expresses the dynamic life processes through which opposing forces—consciousness and the unconscious, beauty and ugliness, chance and necessity, figuration and abstraction—interact and transform. Using the wood engraving technique, she harnesses the chance effects produced by the diffusion of ink wash to arrive at seemingly inevitable results. In doing so, she bridges printmaking and painting, preserving the lineage of print while integrating it with other formal languages to evolve into a contemporary pictorial practice.

한수정 작가는 전통 방식의 검 프린트(Gum Bichromate Print) 기법으로 회화가 융합된 사진을 다루는 사진가이다. 1도 검프린트로 작업하는 작가는 사진과 판화의 경계를 넘으며 그만의 작품세계를 확장시킨다.

Artist Han Sujung is a photographer who works with images that merge photography and painting through the traditional gum bichromate print technique. Using a monochrome gum print process, she transcends the boundaries between photography and printmaking, expanding her own distinctive artistic world.
