About Us
Art Space X는 동시대 예술의 감각과 사유가 교차하는 문화 공간으로, 서울 서초시에 자리한 컨템포러리 아트 갤러리입니다.
갤러리는 청계산을 비롯한 네 개의 산과 양재천 산책로로 둘러싸인 곳에 자리해, 아름다운 풍경 속에서 자연과 예술이 조화를 이루는 환경을 갖추고 있습니다. 주변 도시 맥락 속에서 조형적인 건축은 하나의 전시 오브제처럼 기능하며, 지역 커뮤니티 안에서 새로운 문화적 거점으로 자리 잡고 있습니다.
건축은 외부 환경으로부터 전시 공간을 감싸 안는 구조로 설계되어, 작품에 온전히 집중할 수 있는 차분한 공간을 제공합니다. 지하 전시실에서 2층 카페와 루프탑으로 이어지는 동선은 계단과 공간의 여백을 따라 다양한 시점을 만들어내며, 전시 관람과 휴식이 자연스럽게 연결되도록 구성되었습니다.
Art Space X는 매달 새로운 기획전과 초대전을 선보이며, 해외 갤러리와의 협업을 통해 국내외 동시대 작가들의 작업을 지속적으로 소개합니다. 전시와 연계된 다양한 프로그램을 통해 관람객이 일상 속에서 예술을 폭넓게 경험할 수 있는 시간을 제안합니다.
이름에 담긴 ‘X’는 아직 규정되지 않은 무한한 가능성과 예술적 탐구의 확장성을 의미합니다. Art Space X는 예술가와 관객, 그리고 공간이 만들어내는 만남을 통해 동시대 예술의 다양한 가능성을 지속적으로 확장해 나가고자 합니다.
Art Space X is a contemporary art gallery located in Seocho, Seoul, where the sensibilities and critical inquiries of contemporary art intersect.
Surrounded by four mountains—including Cheonggyesan—and the Yangjaecheon walking trail, the gallery is situated in a setting where nature and art coexist in harmony. Within its urban context, the sculptural architecture functions almost like an exhibition object in itself, establishing the space as a new cultural landmark within the local community.
The building is designed to envelop the exhibition spaces, creating a calm and focused environment in which viewers can fully engage with the artworks. The circulation—from the basement gallery to the second-floor café and rooftop—unfolds along stairways and spatial voids, generating shifting perspectives and seamlessly connecting exhibition viewing with moments of rest.
Art Space X presents new curated and invitational exhibitions each month, and through collaborations with international galleries, continuously introduces contemporary artists from both Korea and abroad. Through a range of exhibition-related programs, the gallery offers audiences opportunities to experience art more expansively within everyday life.
The “X” in its name signifies infinite possibilities yet to be defined and the expanding horizons of artistic exploration. Through the encounters created among artists, audiences, and space, Art Space X seeks to continually expand the diverse possibilities of contemporary art.
