Art SpaceX는 2025년 7월 22일(화)부터 8월 17일(일)까지 정희경 작가를 초청하여 <하늘이 머무는 시간>을 선보입니다. 이번 전시는 일상과 상상의 접점에서 시작됩니다. 일상의 공간과 사물에 하늘을 담아내는 작업을 통해, 익숙함 너머의 낯선 초현실적인 감각을 탐색합니다. 

    정희경 작가의 하늘은 머리 위에만 머물지 않습니다. 때로는 마음 한편, 손끝의 감각, 지나간 시간 속에 머물며, 익숙한 일상에 깊이를 더합니다. 특히 메조틴트의 긁고 덜어내는 반복적인 행위를 통해 표현된 밀도 높은 사물과 하늘의 모습은 빛이 어둠을 뚫고 나오는 미묘한 순간을 감각적으로 포착합니다.

    <하늘이 머무는 시간>은 작은 것 안에서 넓은 세계를 발견하려는 여정입니다. 하늘은 환상도 과장도 아닌, 이미 우리 안에 존재하는 감각의 층위를 조용히 드러냅니다. 잠시 멈춰 서서, 사물에 담긴 무한한 하늘을 바라보며, 무심히 지나쳤던 일상의 단면과 감정에 귀 기울여 보는 시간이 되길 바랍니다.

   Art SpaceX presents <Sky Within> , a solo exhibition by invited artist Chung Hee Kyung, from Tuesday, July 22 to Sunday, August 17, 2025. This exhibition begins at the point where the everyday and the imaginary meet. Through the act of capturing the sky within everyday spaces and objects, it explores a surreal sense beyond the familiar.

   Chung Heekyung’s sky does not stay only above our heads. At times, it lingers in a corner of the heart, in the sensation at the fingertips, or within time that has passed, adding depth to the familiar everyday. Especially through the repetitive act of scratching and removing in mezzotint, the dense depiction of objects and sky sensitively captures the subtle moment when light breaks through darkness.

   <Sky Within> is a journey to discover a wide world within small things. The sky is neither fantasy nor exaggeration—it quietly reveals the layers of sensation that already exist within us. We hope this will be a moment to pause and, by looking at the infinite sky contained in objects, listen closely to the slices of everyday life and emotions that we have passed by without notice.

저의 작업은 개인적인 감정과 경험을 익숙한 사물과 일상의 공간 안에 투영하는 데서 출발합니다. 그 안에 ‘하늘을 담는다’는 것은 단순한 재현이 아니라, 제 안에 머무는 감각과 기억을 사물 속에 차곡차곡 담아두는 일입니다.

하늘은 구체적인 사물 안에 깃들어 있으며, 어떤 장면이나 공간을 통해 다시 떠오르기도 합니다.  저는 그 섬세한 감각을 시각적으로 표현하고자 합니다. 작업 속 하늘에 떠 있는 구름은 감정이 흐르는 방향을 따라 공간을 옮겨 다닙니다.  구름처럼, 일상의 사물과 공간을 유영하며 내면의 감각을 확장해 나갑니다.

메조틴트 기법은 어둠을 겹겹이 쌓은 뒤, 천천히 빛을 찾아 나가는 과정과 닮아 있습니다. 감정을 조용히 담아내며, 현실과 상상이 맞닿는 초현실적인 시간을 열어줍니다. 작업은 사물과 공간이라는 구체적인 틀 안에 하늘이라는 감정의 공간을 담아내려는 시도입니다. 그 속에서 저는 제 내면과 감각을 세밀하게 관찰합니다.

My work begins by reflecting personal feelings and experiences onto familiar objects and everyday spaces. To me, Sky Within is not about depicting the sky as it appears above, but about quietly placing inner sensations and memories into the things that surround me.

The sky settles into tangible objects and sometimes resurfaces through a scene or a space. I try to express these subtle moments through a visual language that stays close to feeling.

The clouds in my work follow the direction of emotion.They drift between spaces, gently echoing the flow of thought. Like them, I move through the objects and environments of daily life,expanding the reach of my inner perception.

The mezzotint technique—built on layering darkness and slowly drawing out light—reflects this process. It becomes a way of containing emotion and opening up a surreal space where reality and imagination meet. These works are my way of placing the sky—an emotional space—into the frame of the everyday.Through them, I observe the quiet layers of my inner world with care and attention.
